We feel that these organizations are, like SichuanAlpine, dedicated to the responsible development of China, the preservation of ecology, wildlife, nature and cultural heritage at a grassroots level. These links are part of our goal to provide you with rich information for ecology study and traveling, allowing you to know China differently.

Conservation International is to safeguard valuable species, preserve the most important landscapes and seascapes, and support communities that care for and rely on Earth's natural resources. CI focus on dedicating ourselves to innovation, raising awareness about conservation, and maintaining business-like effectiveness. SichuanAlpine has established a partbership with CI on the project in Southwest China.
WWF, one of the world's largest international conservation groups, was the first international conservation organisation invited to work in China. Today WWChina run numerous wildlife and energy resources protection projects in China, from restoring the Yangtze river wetlands to environmental education and panda conservation. Since the establishment in 2002 SichuanAlpine has been directed by WWF.
The Alpine Garden Society was founded in 1929 with the aim of promoting an interest in all aspects of alpine plants, their cultivation in rock gardens and plant conservation in their natural habitats. It is one of the largest specialist garden societies in the world. Its membership includes amateur gardeners, plant enthusiasts, professional growers, botanists, naturalists, photographers and artists.
TIES is dedicated to generating and disseminating information about ecotourism. It is membership-based and has developed standards, guidelines, training, and publications to promote the growth of ecotourism as a way of alleviating poverty, conserving the environment, protecting culture, and, of course, making travel enjoyable and educational. TIES members are from over 70 different countrie.
Based in San Francisco, Global Exchange is an NGO dedicated to promoting social, economic, and environmental justice around the world. They organize "Reality Tours" to every corner of the world; these tours promote environmental and economic justice and socially responsible travel and encourage building "people-to-people" ties at a grassroots level.
Darwin Initiative is a small grants programme that aims to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of resources around the world. The Initiative is funded and administered by the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The projects of Darwin Initiative has a real impact on the ability of the host country to meet its obligations under the Biodiversity Convention.
Chengdu Bookworm houses an impressive English-language lending library as well as a cafe.
